Spirit Mountain Casino Az Renovation Center
The Spirit Mountain Community Fund helped to support the construction of the Rood Family Pavilion at OHSU, a new guest house in Portland for out-of-town patients and their families. Nearly 2,000 donors across the country collectively raised $32,000,000 to provide this new five-story home for healing for patients who travel long distances to OHSU and Doernbecher Children’s Hospital for specialized, long-term care. The new guest house opened in the spring of 2019, providing 76 guest suites (38 dedicated to pediatric patients and 38 dedicated to adult patients) with amenities and programs designed to reduce stress, build community and promote healing for the whole family, including an entire floor dedicated to community activities, a Zen garden for relaxation and play spaces designed with the needs of Doernbecher patients of all mobilites in mind. All guests stay for free or at a very low cost, depending on their situation. And thanks to our partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities of Oregon & Southwest Washington, all families with a child at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital stay free of charge. Because we want our patients focused on healing, not housing, there are no set restrictions on length of stay.
